TUESDAY 5/6 MORNING UPDATE
Check out the big update on the App's home page for new notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's a rundown of the news that hit the main listing this morning:
-Jon Jones' coach Mike Winkeljohn talked about Daniel Cormier as a potential title challenger, and though he concedes that Cormier is a tough fighter who could have some success against the Champ, he also believes there's a lot more to beating Jones than a little bit of success in a fight. As he said, just getting to Jones doesn't win you the fight. His full quote with more analysis on Jones' abilities as Champ in the main listing.
-Bellator 118 ratings came in, and last week's show drew an average of 701,000 viewers to Spike. The main event bout between Joe Warren and Rafael Silva peaked just over a million viewers. More on that in the main listing.
-Edson Barboza is hopping right back into the cage this July after his loss to Donald Cerrone last month, as he'll take on Evan Dunham on the same card Cerrone is headlining in New Jersey. Get more information on both fighters at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser!
-Our poll this morning is asking whether or not our readers will be watching Saturday's UFC Fight Night 40 event from Cincinnati. The majority of votes are in for watching all of the televised fights on Fox Sports 1, with the rest of the votes spread out amongst the other options. Only 5% of voters say they're not watching at all. Get your votes in now!
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
